THE LOS ANGELES ART SHOW HOSTS IMMERSIVE ARTS AFTER-PARTY, COME TO YOUR SENSES AT THE COOPER DESIGN SPACE

Evening Highlights Include: Performance Art, Dance Films and Music
Combined with Spontaneous Eruptions of Play and Dance by the Turning the Wheel Dance / Play Mob
The Los Angeles Art Show and the Cooper Design Space in association with Turning the Wheel Los Angeles and Timothy Yarger Fine Art will host an exciting multi-artistic after-party on Saturday, January 22 in the penthouse of the Cooper Design Space. This exclusive, invitation-only party will feature live multi-instrumental music, dance films, performance art, fine art and spontaneous eruptions of play and connection that beckons you to Come to Your Senses...in the most delightful way.
An experiential artistic event, Come to Your Senses begins in the lobby of the Cooper Design Space. A large screen projection of Electric Aquarium; a collection of five visual music pieces created in collaboration with visual artist VV Hsu, singer Kate McCallum and composer Wayne O'Brien with images of sea jellies and the mysterious beauty found beneath the sacred sea will be playing alongside works by Zhenya Gershman. From here, guests will move to the 11th floor penthouse cupola, where they will experience a live musical performance by multi-instrumentalist Jesse Manno.
The Steben Twins, Karyne & Sarah, featured Duo Trapeze Artists from Cirque du Soleil will have special performance at 9:30pm.
The evening will also feature:
Screenings of Dance Camera West films
· A discussion with BBC Journalist David Gibbons of In Discussion Radio and Television
· An art performance piece by San Franciso-based artist Lucas Murgida. The Oracle is a large scale, hand crafted wooden box that offers responses and insights into questions posed by the participant.
· The Turning the Wheel dance/play mob will perform throughout the evening beginng outside the building and moving up to the penthouse in spontaneous episodes of dance and whimsy.
· Eco-friendly cocktails courtesy of Veev, beverages from Honest Tea and appetizers from Obika Mozzarella Bar
The Los Angeles Art Show takes place on January 19-23, 2011 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
